Malaysian national oil company, Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) will begin production from it’s Garagol Deniz West field in the Turkemenistan area. The 1st oil from the Garagol Deniz Drilling Platform (GDDP-A) is planned to be obtained in August 2021 with targeted production rate of 6,700 barrels per day. The produced crude oil will then be processed at the Gas Treatment Plant & the Onshore Gas Terminal.

PETRONAS operates in offshore Block 1 in Turkmenistan, which includes Garagol Deniz West field, in accordance with the Production Sharing Agreement signed in 1996.

Garagol Deniz is located in Block 1 contract area which covers around 1,467 square kilometers, which also includes Diyarbakir, Magtymguly, Ovez, and Mashrykov fields. The explored reserves reach at least one trillion cubic meters of gas, more than 200 million tons of oil and 300 million tons of gas condensate.
